Finally, the 2oth Winter Olympics in Torino is at an end. 16 days of winter sports madness takes a 4 year break. Madness? Yes, when the TV channels airs up to 400 hours of sports, per channel, I classify that as madness. Sports are taking over the world, but that's a whole other post.
I watched the closing ceremonies and, I must say, I was satisfied. Some parts of it was a bit too cultural, with lots of noisy contemporary music. But the section where they put out the extremely tall flame was very tranquill and nice to look at. Even the fireworks seemed to move slower.
Congratulations to Germany, USA and Austria for the most gold medals. An honorary mention goes to Latvia for securing one single bronze.
The best of luck to the 21st Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010. I look forward to "Come play with you".
